A visit to dog parks affords your dog the opportunity to exercise and to socialize with other animals. The visit can turn into a nightmare if your dog is not well behaved.
- Your dog should have gone through basic obedience training before being let out the door. The dog should also have proper identification and a leash.
- Any aggressive behavior or fearful behavior should be your signal to leave the dog park immediately.
- Remember that you are responsible for your dog’s ill behavior at the dog park. Make sure that you do not get negligent.
As long as everyone is playing nice and the animals have been properly socialized, your dog should have a great time, even if she has to be put in her place by a dog that does not want to play with her. It’s all part of learning how to play nice with each other — and it’s proper dog park etiquette.
